Petco Park to be center of classic rock universe this weekend

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Petco Park will have their fair share of rock and roll royalty this weekend. The Eagles will headline Saturday while Journey along with Def Leppard will rock on Sunday. With these legendary bands come legendary crowds in downtown.
Concertgoer Tim Blaylock calls it Disneyland for adults.
In an effort to keep up with the crowds, MTS is boosting trolley service in the area. Saturday’s trolleys started running double time at every seven and a half minutes. The increased service will continue after the concert with the last train leaving around 12:30 a.m.
A similar schedule will be used on Sunday for the Journey and Def Leppard concert.
Despite the large crowds, traffic and lines, fans were full of nostalgia.
Jennifer Mendenhall told News 8 she is excited to see the Eagles again because she saw them at Jack Murphy Stadium years ago.
The Eagles will take the stage around 9 and will rock out until 11:30. The Doobie Brothers and Zac Brown Band will open up.
